Enough weight to stand on its own
A 40 kg square base in marble with a steel centre pipe and a recessed carrying handle. Nearly double the mass of the standard 22 kg round base, which is what a free-standing Ø2,7 m canopy actually needs on an open terrace.
Produced by the same factory as our hand-cranking garden umbrellas and shipped in the same container, so it carries only a share of a freight cost that is already being paid — far cheaper per piece than importing heavy bases on their own.

Why 40 kg
Common guidance for a free-standing parasol up to 3 m is a base of around 50 kg; lighter bases are acceptable where the pole also passes through a weighted table. At 40 kg this base is the heaviest option that still travels in the umbrella container, and a substantial step up from the 22 kg round base for exposed terraces, event spaces and coastal locations.
